Well, my first thanksgiving cooked in my house...and I didn't take pictures...
I used the day before Thanksgiving to pre-cook a bunch of stuff. I baked bread, chocolate chip cookies, and an apple-pie. I also made the apple sauce and cranberry sauce.
The day of Thanksgiving was a bit panicked, but it worked out. We started out finishing the cleaning and were just about to get the turkey going when the dog puked. So we cleaned the floor and put him into his kennel. Then he puked again. So we took him out of the kennel to clean it, and he puked on the carpet. So we put him back into the kennel, and he puked there. All in all, it was about 1 hour worth of random puking.
Then Mike went into the computer room to print out a recipe and his computer died...violently. So in between cleaning up dog puke, and trying to figure out what happened to his computer, PLUS helping me finish cleaning.... tempers became a little short.
On top of that, we had an 18.5 pound turkey, that I could barely move around, with the pan and everything it was Really awkward! Thankfully, the turkey did NOT fall on the floor! And we got it in the oven by 11:30 a.m.
At that point, we were both feeling a bit flustered...so we grabbed a soda, sat down on the couch, put our feet up, and looked at each other.

After cleaning up from the dog yet again, we sat back down on the couch with the poor pup curled up on the floor. He dozed off, thankfully. An hour later, he woke up and didn't have any more stomach problems.

Back to the dinner preparations.
The rest of our dinner preparations went very smoothly.
Our guests arrived around 4 p.m.
We ate at 5.
Got all cleaned up by 6:30.
We all drove over to my parent's house for dessert by 7, where my mom said that she was surprised that she didn't get a phone call from me in panic.
I was ooooooh so close...but then it all turned out terrifically!
I think we'll do it again next year.
