Be IN this world, but not OF this world....

Mike and I have been recently blessed with new callings in Church.

I am a Relief Society Teacher, which means I get to teach one lesson a month during Relief Society (the women's organization for the Church).

Michael is a Stake High Councilor overseeing the Welfare program AND the Boy Scout Commissioner for our Ward. (Ward = Congregation, Stake = Diocese, Stake High Council is kinda like the Bishop's Council for the Catholic Church)

We recently got a call from the Temple President of the Chicago Temple, asking us to come in for a meeting with him. For my non-LDS friends, Temples are the most sacred places for us. We worship weekly in the Chapels, which are open to everyone to attend. Temples, though, are really sacred. One must be a member in good standing to attend. In the Temple, everyone wears white symbolizing purity. It is the place where we make our most sacred covenants with God.

Mike and I have been asked to be Ordinance Workers in the Temple. Ordinance Workers are those people who officiate, help, and guide others through the Temple Ordinances. We will be Serving in the Temple every Tuesday evening. We can't think of a better way to spend one night a week, then Serving the Lord.
