My Bucket List

I have a "Bucket List" of 100 things I want to do before I die.

I know, it's corny.

It has some stuff on it that are really cool, others that are difficult, and even some that other people think are really weird.

I've even managed to cross a few things off of it in the course of my life so far:

#9: Visit Nauvoo, IL (Nauvoo Temple Dedication, June 2002)
#15: Compile a Family Heritage Album (Started 2006)
#20: Pick Blueberries in Michigan (July 2009)
#26: Win a prize for my cooking or baking (February 2001 - Relief Society Chocolate Contest) Not a big prize, but so what?
#35: Learn how to make my own clothes (October 30, 2002 is when I sewed my first dress)
#40: Get my Bilingual Teaching Certificate (September 2010)
#55: Do the Tourist thing around Chicago for two full days (June 2010)
#80: Attend a live music concert - country or pop (Phil Vassar, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Six Wire, Braden Auditorium, 2002)
#84: Have a professional massage (December 2006)
#88: Dance with my husband, on a warm summer night under the stars (Chicago Summer Swing Dance, Grant Park, July 2008)
#93: Meet some friends from Second Life in person (MJ and BD, 2007)

Looking back at some of the ones that have been on the list for a while and that I've accomplished, like the professional massage, or the live music concert, they seem kind of silly now.  Since then I've had several massages and been to several concerts, but when I first wrote those goals down, they were important to me.

I do periodically look at my bucket list and change it.  There are some things on it that I wanted to do, but don't find interesting anymore.  Others that I realized aren't feasible, but once a goal is done, I don't take it off the list, I just mark it as done.  I figure that once I get half the list complete, I'll add some additional things to do to the list.

Some of the goals are really long term like:
#2: Attend a session at 5 Temples outside of the United States
or
#99: Pay off Student Loans.

Some of them are fairly "quick" goals. Theoretically, they could be done tomorrow if I knew someone who could arrange it for me.
#91: Ride an elephant
or
#85 Ride on a Combine or other large piece of farm equipment (Hey, for a city girl, this always seemed cool)

Other goals on my bucket list that may take a little help to accomplish:
#95 - Shake hands with the President of the United States
#96 - See Royalty in person
#77 - Try on (not own) a Million Dollar Necklace.

There is one MAJOR thing that I'm getting really close to accomplishing:

#39: Earn a Master's Degree in Education

In two weeks, my last class will be finished.  My paperwork will be submitted and my transcripts will be released by August.  I won't actually graduate until October/ Novemberish, but I'll have earned a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University.

I'm also a couple of weeks away from four other goals, thanks to our upcoming vacation to England and Spain!

#49 - Spend a week in England
#72 - See the changing of the guards in London
#22 - Eat Paella in Spain
#92 - Meet some of my European / British Internet friends in person

I can't wait.  In two weeks, I will be able to cross off 5 things from my bucket list, and will be closer to accomplishing a few more long term goals.

Do you have a bucket list?  What are a couple of things that you have on it?  I'd love to know.
