We decided to get rid of the range that came with the house. The old range is from Montgomery Ward and has to be at least 20 years old. You can see it in the picture here. It's pretty bad. It actually looks better in this picture than it does in person (my opinion). We know that the cook top does work still, we just aren't certain of the oven. We would have kept the old stove for a little longer but we found a great deal on a new range. Those of you who were around us when we got the new oven know how excited I am. I couldn't stop talking about this for two or three days!
Our new range is a GE Profile 30" Dual Fuel Slide-In Range. It's a gas cook top with Power Boil burner; electric CONVECTION self-cleaning oven. It's original price at Home Depot was $1,999.96. The GE website for this oven lists the recommended price at $2249. Home Depot was clearing out their floor models and put this stove on sale for $500. That right! $500! On top of that, my father gave us a coupon for "10% off your entire purchase" so we actually got the stove for only $450!
(The picture is the official picture from the GE website since our range is currently sitting out in the garage waiting for us to get cabinets in. )
I'm so excited! I never believed that I would be excited over a stove! But I am!
(Thank you, Dad Clyde, for the early Christmas Present!)
