Because Mike had been going up and down into the attic so often, he had left the hatch open in the closet, but then had closed the closet door. On Saturday, with a Heat index of 105°, the heat got so bad in the attic, that the heat caused the paint in the closet to disintegrate. So, literally, the paint melted!
This just adds one more project to our list. We now need to install some sort of attic fan or vents ('cause there aren't any) and re-insulate the attic floor.
I have NEVER seen heat so bad that the paint melted! Have you?
