Less than 2 weeks left.

We're getting into crunch time. This weekend, while Mike finished the electrical work for the kitchen and I painted the living room, my father came and put up drywall in the kitchen. Some really visible progress is being made. Remember...we HAVE to be out of the apartment completely on July 31!

Building the Wall

Installing Shims for the new drywall.

The old walls were inch thick concrete! We have to add 1/2 shims to all the walls where we took out the old wallboard so that the new sheetrock that we put up matches. The picture on the right shows just how thick that wall board was! Our neighbor said that when they built this neighborhood, it was out in the country and the builders were really worried about tornadoes, so they built the houses REALLY strong. 1 inch thick wall board on all the interior walls is very strong indeed!

Installing the sheetrock.

1st Mudding (filling the gaps!)
